This class emphasizes additional strength development of the upper body as well as increased opening of the hips and pelvis. Beginning Hot Yoga Series in the tradition taught through our Lineage from Calcutta India. This Class is a 75 minute class that will have you work yourself through the entire body. This particular series will also challenge your upper body in new ways as well as create new access points into your hips. Every muscle, joint, organ, and cell will be re-awakened and brought towards their more normal balanced state. CLASS LENGTH 75 MINUTES Barkan Method - Hot Yoga Fusion Developed by Jimmy Barkan, this class is a true evolution of Hatha Yoga practice. One of the nation’s premiere Hot Yoga teachers, Jimmy finds his roots in the tradition of Bishnu Gosh, the innovator in Hot Yoga and Bikram Choudhury, who brought this style of Yoga to the United States. Bikram taught Jimmy Barkan in California in the early 80’s and considered him one of his most senior teachers. The Barkan Method is a style of Hatha Yoga that originated from a lineage in Calcutta, India. The Barkan Method finds its roots from this lineage in Calcutta, but also integrates postures from other styles of Yoga to create variations and even greater range of motion. The yoga classes are practiced in a heated room to stretch and strengthen various areas of the body. The practice brings vital balance and restores all systems to optimal health. Consistency will create a physical, mental and spiritual harmony that will be felt in all areas of the practitioner’s life. CLASS LENGTH 90 MINUTES Our HOT Vinyasa Flow class is a dynamic flowing yoga session which teaches you how to use your breath to move your body. Breath and Body move at the same time each feeding off of each other. A greater awareness of breath and incorporating it into the physical movements known as asanas will allow you, as a human being, to just breathe and be. A person who breathes freely in their daily life will find great love in their hearts and the freedom to live. The asanas (postures) can be challenging at times and tend to vary from class to class. The variation introduces you to only some of the 84 million yoga posture variations known to exist. Beginner level class. Experienced students are instructed on the more advanced modifications during the class. CLASS LENGTH 75 - 90 MINUTES Class in the Bikram tradition and taught by Certified Teachers, this Beginning Hot Yoga Series in the tradition taught through our Lineage from Calcutta India. This Class is a 90 minute class that will have you work yourself through the entire body. Every muscle, joint, organ, and cell will be re-awakened and lead towards their more normal balanced state. The goal of this series is to establish a Well Balanced You through compressing and stretching the entire body. Very helpful to your Spine you will feel a refreshed sense of being as this series of postures centers you on your core and invigorates your nervous system helping to achieve a positive state of equilibrium. Many people begin their yoga practice here working to achieve overall wellness or even working to correct injuries and imbalances. Here you will be challenged physically, mentally, and spiritually as you dig deeper into self. CLASS LENGTH 90 MINUTES Have you ever just wanted to escape? If you are looking for the perfect peaceful place to practice where like minded people go to gather then this is the perfect class for you. There is no dialogue and the Teacher present in the class does not instruct you as a class. Rather, this is the class where you may Safely practice any posture you like. It's your choice for the entire hour. Perhaps you are looking to open your hips more or work your shoulders more. Simply come in anytime during this hour session. Our room will be a toasty 90 degrees just right for your body to gently unwind and relax. The teacher who is overseeing the class will be there to help you if you require and can safely guide you when needed. The name of this class is called A Kula Class. Kula in sanskrit means "A group coming together of its own free will; an intentional community" Kula is the experience of the union between Shiva and Shakti, God and Goddess, Power and Consciousness. A quick invigorating powerful Yoga session that will touch on every muscle, joint, organ, and cell as they are re-awakened. The goal of this series is to jump start your system by working towards establishing a Well Balanced You through compressing and stretching the entire body. The pace of the class will work to create a healthy heart muscle as the tone of the series challenges the cardiovascular component of health. For those that need a quick and powerful "pick me up" set, this is the class for you. Sometimes you just want to feel good... CLASS LENGTH 60 MINUTES This series of flow cultivates strength, flexibility, balance, focus and endurance. It is an energetic practice that tones the entire body as well as disciplining the mind. The room is heated and class takes 60 minutes to complete. This sequence is based on Baron Baptistes' Power Yoga. Open to all levels of students, this class will leave you feeling light and open to the world. CLASS TIME 60 - 75 MINUTES This class is designed with the apprehensive Beginner in mind. The room is pleasantly warm providing a gentle sense of relaxation. Here, you may explore your new yoga practice at a pace that may be more suitable to you. Those that participate in this class will learn optional variations in some postures that may allow them to perform in a more balanced state as a beginner. Here the room is warmed to comfortable temperatures which will allow your body to gently open so that you may focus on other aspects of your practice. CLASS LENGTH 75 MINUTES Silent Bliss Enlightenment and Self Realization in 60 minutes flat! Peace and quiet as you work through the postures with less talking allowing for more inward reflection. The instructor practices with the class which, provides students with a good frame of reference regarding asana setup and depth. During your practice, the instructor may also move around the class to provide guidance in your practice.
