Is "Hot Yoga" the same as yoga in a "heated" room?
No it is not the same. The heat in our studio is specifically designed to meet certain criteria and is held to very tight standards. The temperature and humidity in the room needs to be in a specific range for the students'optimal experience. Many other types of studios who have no background in true Hot Yoga will add heat to their room so their students feel more comfortable and generate a "good" sweat. The Hot room is so much more than just getting a "good" sweat. Not only does the environment need to be in a specific range but, the practice itself is special. The Hot Yoga alignments, the process, and the sequencing are very different and specific to our practice.
